Misc.

JO, I just read your second post. Is it possible this is a cry for help and attention? And she knows Grandma will react? From what you said, the way she is shuffled around and cared for by various people, I wonder if she is saying she wants to be in ONE home with ONE caregiver. It has to be very difficult on a child to be moved around from place to place - and every adult has different rules and expectations. I wonder if it is her way of wanting attention and has resorted to drastic measures. Or maybe she blames herself for all the shuffling, and somehow has gotten to think if she was skinny, someone would want her all the time. With the pencil thin models kids see on tv and stuff, they can easily misunderstand - and kids need to be loved and accepted maybe more than adults. I do hope you can get her parents working on this, all her care givers need to be an active part in the solution. My children are adopted and I have read for hours and hours about emotional reactions and behaviors. This reminds me of some of the things we have gone through. I admire your courage. She must know how much her Grandma loves her! We are all pulling for you. Becky
