Help, please.

Misc.

Right now I'm so upset that I can't think straight. My 9-yr-old granddaughter who is staying with us this week has the eating habits of an anorexic. Her family thinks it's being a fussy eater, so I don't give her much to start with. But the child leans toward being "chubby", and at this point doesn't "look" like she has this problem.

Every day at mealtime, she runs to the bathroom in the middle of a meal. Today I found her chewed-up food in the toilet... it didn't flush down, and she didn't check. She admitted to me she "spit it up". Well, it was more than a mouthful. (She only admitted to what she was caught at.)

I guess I'll have to play "guard" at mealtimes. I left a message on her mom's answering service. Is there anything else I ought to be doing? (To think I used to be a counselor in my church; but when it "strikes home", all the emotions let loose.)
