Needs to Always Know She's Okay!

Misc.

Dear Jo,

Tell her, from a very tall and not thin woman, that she's a precious gem no matter what size. It's not her, it's a media that trades on women's insecurities and thereby promugates a body size and type that nobody really has (or would want due to the problems involved).

Nobody ever thought (well, my so-called "friends" that is) that any boy (guy, dude, man, etc.) could or would ever be interested in me since I just didn't look like Twiggy. What a laugh!; I've been fightin' 'em off for years. Heck, it's a darned good thing for all us Big Beautiful Women that the twigs and branches and leaves are around; otherwise, when would we have time to get to the haircutter, cosmetic counters, high-fashion boutiques (or to work, for that matter) on time!

It's hard for her to realize right now, but she's changing almost before your eyes and that many of these changes will culminate in her emergence fully "growed" and magnificent! It's hard being young (been there, done that, got the T-shirt, then burned IT!), but change she will in so many wonderful and beautiful ways before she's through. Beauty is not so much in the eye of the beholder, but within oneself. That little voice of self-love and self-appreciation and self-satisfaction. That little voice needs to be nurthured in order that it continue to nurthure in turn.

You will reach her, Jo; I just know you'll find a way. And, since she loves and admires you, she'll listen. It may take awhile, but she'll listen. And learn. And love you forever for doing so.

You're Wonderful!
