Mary Ann... have some good news and some so-so news... I telephoned my dear Hungarian friend in Cleveland, old-world Hungarian family there. The Clear Mushroom Broth is call in Hungarian Gomba (gumba) Leves (Leh-ves); she makes this soup a lot. Locally, she can buy the noodles (lucky lady)... a hint for you... To keep the broth CLEAR... PRE-cook those noodles and put them into cold water and set aside. When you are ready to serve the soup; drain the noodles; put amount wanted in bottom of your individual bowls; then pour the hot soup over them; this keeps the broth clear. She also, said that to cook the noodles (in the broth) absorbs too much of the soup liquid and clouds the broth.

The Bean Stew she also makes.

She told me that KALACS are always the large nut and poppy seed rolls.
KOLACKY are the small square, fruit or cheese filled pastries.

My dear friend is caring for her aged mother and now my friend is going blind and facing some surgeries... she promised she will get the recipes to me, as soon as she can... so please be patient and prayers for her and her dear ones would be really appreciated.
