The directions say 1 Tb for an 8 oz. carton of sour cream. I usually will put in a few tsp.,rounded, per cup of sauce until I reach the right flavor level by sampling. I also use one or the other sprinkled on pasta dishes. I even add it to the flour I use to coat fish before frying. I add it to the tartar sauce for fish. I guess it would be the same as where you would use dill. (I do not sell this product. I am like you and ended up having some to use. :-))
