Hello Anne: Thanks for the recipes. My dad (mom & dad were divorced 20 years ago)makes a most awsome version of kapusniak. He won't give a recipe cause it's different every time, but for the stock I know that he uses smoked pork hock and beef bones together. When he came to visit us one time he made it. Thankfully he made enough to freeze cause my youngest daughter loved it. Now she keeps asking me to make it but it never turns out like Guidos. My family is from Chernovtsy; I still have a half brother there. It is amazing the recipes the Ukrainians have that are family recipes, they were basically thought up with what they had on hand which basically was not much.
