Recipe(tried): Baked goodies

Misc.

My 15 year old daughter loves to make these. Believe it or not I've never made them but they taste great when my mom or daughter make them.

Khrustyky

5 egg yolks 1/2 cup sugar
flour 5 T sweet cream
1 jigger rum or brandy (they usually use brandy)

Cream yolks and sugar. Add cream & brandy. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out thin on a floured board and cut into diamond shapes. Slit the middle of each diamond, and pull one end of the diamond through the hole. Fry in deep hot oil until light brown. Drain on paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar.Rohalyky (Walnut Crescents)

1/2 lb. butter 2 cups flour
2 egg yolks 3/4 cup sour cream

Filling:
1/2 cup ground walnuts 1/2 cup sugar
1 T cinnamon

Cut flour & butter into pea-sized pieces, as for pie. Blend eggs with sour cream. Mix butter dough with sour cream mix, handling as little as possible. Refrigerate 2 hours. Mix together filling ingredients.

Divide refrigerated dough into six parts. Roll each part into a 9 - 10 inch circle. Cut each circle into 12 pie shaped wedges. Sprinkle with 1/6 of the filling and roll each wedge toward the center. Pinch down the end. Bake 15 min. @ 350 until lightly browned.Zavivanetz

3 cups flour 2 sticks margarine
4 egg yolks 1 tsp salt
2 pkg. yeast mixed with 1/2 cup milk & 1 T sugar

Combine flour & margarine. Knead all ingredients together until dough no longer sticks to the hands. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll dough out thin. Sprinkle with poppy seeds, cinnamon, & sugar (or my mom uses poppy seed filling). Roll dough into long loaf. Cut in half and place each loaf into greased bread pan and allow to rise. Bake at 350 for one hour.
