Simple Word file method

Misc.

I also collect recipes from the web. At first I printed them out and used colored markers to color code them on the edge of the pages, since the recipes on the pages fit into various categories. When I realized that I could not keep up with this project, I resorted to copying them to a Word file. All the recipes get copied to the same file in the order they are found. If I want to find something, I go to "edit", then "find" and type in a key word (e.g. cookies). It will go to the next word that matches. (You need to make sure the cursor is at the top of the file. Hit control home. To get to end, use control end) It is not as sophisticated as the software you are talking about but it works for me. In about a month or so of doing this I have 95 pages. I usually buy what is on sale and then figure out what to make with it so this method works for me.

I have also used various filing methods for recipes clipped from magazines. I think I will try scanning them (with software that recognizes text) and use the same method above for searching.
