Word File and Scanning

Misc.

Really enjoyed everybody's ideas.

I have two 3-inch binders full of just TKL recipes, sorted by type of recipe and I have a table of the chapters on the front of each binder. I realized I couldn't keep up with this method.

And the 100's of cookbooks that I have and magazines and newspapers.

So, I have started downloading directly to my hard drive and save each recipe as a separate file for now. Each is catagorized by file name such as:

Dessert Pie Banana Chocolate Cream
Baked Goods Quickbreads Sweet Banana Chocolate Chip
Baked Goods Quickbreads Rosemary Parmesan

I also just started to use a scanner in the OCR mode to copy magazine recipes and such. I also have a fantasy of scanning all the recipes that I use on a regular basis from the many cookbooks I have. Then I don't have to remember which book they are in. I will just be able to do a search for them. HOW?

Well, that is a little easier said than done. A friend of mine, has a computer shop and writes programs and has agreed to write a program for me (once I figure out how many categories and sub categories and such I want) for a song. He asked only for 3 signed cookbooks. The gods are shining upon me with this one.

However, I still have a lot of scanning and such. I just started 2 weeks ago and have over 100 files already. I also don't have much free time for this project so I have to szueese it in to my already busy schedule. I am looking at a long term project - a big one.

And it'll never be done....LOL

Be well,
Seppo
