15-MINUTE MASHED SIDES
Vegetable choice(s), chopped (below, 1 cup per person)
Fruit choice(s) (below)
Butter
Mayonnaise (or milk or sour cream or softened cream cheese)
Spice choice(s) (below)
Cook selected chopped vegetables and selected fruit (if using apple or pear) in simmering water until tender. Drain. Add a spoonful of butter (and banana or pineapple, if using) to the pot and mash.
Stir in mayonnaise, milk or sour cream (as needed for consistency) and a dash of selected spice(s).

Turnip
Sweet potato

Carrot
FRUIT CHOICES:

Crushed pineapple
SPICE CHOICES:
Allspice
Ground ginger
Ground nutmeg

VARIATION:
PHILLY MASHED POTATOES:
Simmer 6 potatoes until cooked and tender; drain and mash. Stir in 1/2 a tub (8-oz-size) Philadelphia Chive and Onion Cream Cheese Spread and serve immediately.
