Recipe: Butter Tarts (using Splenda)

Firm Butter Tarts

1/2 cup of butter or margarine, soft
2 eggs
1/2 cup SPLENDA* Low-Calorie Sweetener
1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/3 cup of raisins
12 pastry lined tart shells (2 inch/5cm diameter)

These tarts are firmer than butter tarts, but taste the same with fewer calories. The butter should be very .

In bowl, beat butter and eggs until well blended. Beat in SPLENDA*, flour and vanilla until smooth. Spoon raisins into tart shells.

Pour in filling to top of shells. Bake at 375 F.(150 C) for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on rack. Store in refrigerator.

Makes 12 tarts.

Per tart: 143 Calories, 2 grams of protein, 10 grams of fat, 12 grams of carbohydrate, 0 grams of dietary fibre.
