Recipe(tried): Candy Apple Jelly

Preserving - Jams, Jellies

This is the recipe I make every year. Looks pretty (rosy red), especially for gifts at Christmas, tastes wonderful (apple-cinnamon taste) and is very easy to make.

Candy Apple Jelly

4 cups apple juice
1/2 c. red-hot candies
1 pkg. (1-3/4 oz.) powdered fruit pectin
4-1/2 c. sugar

In a large kettle, combine apple juice, candy and pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar; return to a full rolling boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; skim any foam and undissolved candy. Pour hot liquid into hot jars, leaving 1/4" headspace. Adjust caps. Process for 5 minutes in boiling-water bath.

Makes about 6 half-pints.
