Recipe(tried): Cheese Blitzes (using white bread and cream cheese)

Desserts - Assorted
CHEESE BLITZES

1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, at room temp
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp plus 1 cup sugar, divided use
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
white bread (about 18 slices)
1 1/4 sticks (3/4 cup) butter, melted
Sour cream (optional, for serving)

Mix cream cheese, egg yolk, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla; set aside.

Combine the remaining 1 cup sugar with the cinnamon; set aside.

Cut the crust off the white bread; roll each slice flat with a glass or rolling pin. Spread the cheese mixture on slices and roll up. Dip the rolls in the melted butter. Roll in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Freeze the rolls at least 1 hour (or a day if you want).

WHEN READY TO BAKE:
Cut into bite size pieces (3 sliced per roll).

Bake at 400 degrees F for 8 minutes, then cool.

If desired, serve with sour cream for dipping.

Makes 4 to 4 1/2 dozen
