Chocolate Drops - 1927
Recipe By : October 1927 Good Housekeeping
Yield : 50

1 cup Crisco
1 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs -- beaten
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup milk
3 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate
1 cup broken nutmeats
1 cup cut raisins

Cream shortening, sugar & salt. Add eggs, then chocolate, nuts & raisins. Sift flour with baking soda. Add alternately with milk. Drop, flatten. Bake 10-15 minutes.

Bake at 350. All measurements level. About 2" space should be allowed on each pan for cookies to spread. Let cookies stand in pan a minute before removing to board to cool. Do not pile or put in jars until quite cold.
