Recipe(tried): Freezing Corn on the Cob

If you have lots of freezer space, I have had great success with freezing the corn by doing the following.
Make sure the corn is completely cooled after gathering it. I use large plastic bags and put the corn in, they are sealed and the corn is frozen as it comes from the field. When you are ready to cook it, remove the number of ears needed, let thaw slightly, remove the shucks and silks and cook.

I know this is not the way the books tell you to do it, but it works, and I have kept it up to a year. I have cooked it on the cob, or let it thaw and cut it off for whole kernel and cream style. None of the people I cooked it for could believe it was not fresh.
