Recipe(tried): Fried Green Tomatoes

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

1/2 cup corn meal
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
4 medium green tomatoes, sliced 1/2-inch thick
oil for frying

Mix corn meal, flour, salt, and pepper together.

Mix egg and milk together in a separate bowl.

Dredge tomatoes in flour mixture then in egg wash then back in flour mixture.

Heat about 1/4 cup oil in a skillet.

Fry tomatoes in hot oil until lightly browned on both sides.

Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
