Recipe(tried): Gourmet Onions

Gourmet Onions

5 medium Vadalia or other Sweet Onions
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup cooking sherry
2 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese

Slice onions and season them with the sugar, salt and pepper. Cook in 1/3 cup butter 5-8 minutes until barely tender, stirring to separate rings. Add sherry;cook quickly 2 or 3 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
