GRILLED ROMAINE LETTUCE
1/2 cup light soy sauce
4 Tablespoons dry white wine
2 heaping Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 heads Romaine lettuce, trimmed, washed and cut in half lengthwise
Preheat a gas grill to medium-high.
Combine soy sauce, wine, brown sugar, and oil. Mix until well blended.
Brush the Romaine halves with the marinade, then spray with nonstick cooking oil.
Place on grill. Grill over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Turn the Romaine halves, brush with marinade, and grill for 2 to 3 more minutes. Remove the lettuce halves from the grill and keep warm until ready to serve.
