ROUND STEAK WITH GREEN PEPPERS
1 1/2 lb round steak, 1/2 inch thick, cut into 1/4-inch strips
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 cup oil or shortening
1 cup canned tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 3/4 cup beef broth
1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 large green bell peppers, cut into strips
Hot cooked noodles (for serving)
Coat the meat with the flour mixed with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large skillet and brown the meat in it on all sides.
Drain the tomatoes, reserving both tomatoes and liquid. Add liquid, the onion, garlic, and broth to meat. Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and pepper strips and cook 5 minutes. Add reserved tomatoes.
Serve over noodles.
