Recipe: Last Minute Chocolate Icing (cooked, using evaporated milk) (Carnation, 1959)

LAST MINUTE CHOCOLATE ICING

1 cup (6-ounce package) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1/3 cup undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk
1/4 cup butter

Melt chocolate and butter together in small saucepan. Allow to cool thoroughly.

Mix in sugar alternately with Carnation. Beat briskly tospreading consistency.

Spread over top of cooled sheet cake, and garnish with chopped nuts, if desired.

Makes icing for 9x13-inch cake
