Recipe(tried): Meat Cakes (using ground beef and Italian sausage, baked in muffin tins)

MEAT CAKES

Nice for a picnic.

1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/2 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1/2 cup unprocessed bran
1/2 cup minced onion
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried sage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together well.

Place 1/3 cup (2 oz.) mixture in each of 16 muffin cups.

Bake at 350 degrees F until done, about 1 hour. Remove from muffin tins.

Serve hot or cold.

Makes 16 meat cakes
