Recipe(tried): Number of apples for a pie

Desserts - Pies and Tarts
Wheng, it sort of depends on how high and stuffed you want your pie to be, and also on how big your pie pan is. For a standard deep-dish 9-inch apple pie, I use about 7-8 cups of sliced, peeled apples. You can figure out about how many apples to buy by looking at how close to cup-size the fresh apples are. If they are nice and big, so each one would about fill a one-cup measure, then buy 8. If they are smaller, buy more.
