Recipe: Pizza Bread and Tomato Bread (using French bread)

2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
a pinch of pepper
3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 loaf French bread
8 oz. sliced Muenster cheese
crushed red pepper flakes
Slice a loaf of French bread in half lengthwise; place on cookie sheet.
Saute onions, salt and oregano and a pinch of pepper in 3 Tbsp. olive oil. Spread bread evenly with sauteed onions and cheese; sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes on bread.
Bake on cookie sheet 15 minutes at 375 degrees F. Cut into pieces.
TOMATO BREAD
1 loaf French bread
1 cup chopped tomato
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp. each salt
1/2 dried basil (or 1 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh basil)
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
Slice a loaf of French bread in half lengthwise; place on cookie sheet.
Combine remaining ingredients. Spread evenly on bread.
Broil 8-10 minutes. Cut into pieces.
