Recipe: Sausage Pasta Casserole

Sausage Pasta Casserole
Serves 6-7

1 lb. bulk pork sausage
6 oz. fine noodles
2 Tbsp. chopped pimiento
2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/4 cup milk
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sharp cheese, shredded
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 cup fresh mushrooms
1-2 tsp. paprika to taste

Brown sausage, crumble, and drain fat (pat in paper towels if necessary to remove more fat). Cook noodles, drain. Combine sausage, noodles, pimiento, green pepper and mushrooms.

Add milk to soup, heat slowly, stir frequently. Remove from heat, add 3/4 cup of cheese. Stir until melted. Combine sauce with noodle mixture; place in 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Mix crumbs with melted butter, sprinkle over top. Sprinkle rest of cheese over top; sprinkle all with paprika.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.
