Recipe(tried): Seafood Fra Diavolo - Good to hear from you RisaG. I have a few recipes for you.

Main Dishes - Fish, Shellfish
My advice is that you try the best in all of them & you can decide by yourself which is the best. The first one is my favorite!

Seafood Fra Diavolo
6 Servings

1 tb olive oil
1/2 c onion
1/2 c green pepper
1 tb finely chopped garlic
14 oz chopped whole tomatoes, undrained
8 oz tomato sauce
1/4 c dry white wine
1 ts dried basil
3/4 ts crushed dried red pepper
1/2 ts salt
8 oz gemelli (I use whatever pasta I have on hand) pasta, uncooked
3/4 lb fresh shrimp, cleaned*

In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil; add onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add tomatoes with juice, tomatoe sauce, wine, basil, red pepper, and salt. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Add
shrimp to sauce mixture; cook 5 minutes or until meat is no longer opaque. Spoon sauce over hot pasta.

*Or substitute bay scallops or crabmeat

Seafood Sauce for Pasta (Salsa Fra Diavolo)

4 tbl Extra Virgin Olive Oil
6 x Garlic cloves, crushed
3 cup Plum or Roma Tomatoes skinned, seeded, coarsely chopped with juice
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
8 oz Small Raw Shrimp peeled and deveined
8 oz Small Raw Bay Scallops
1 tbl Parsley, finely chopped
1 lb Linguine, cooked al dente

In a large saucepan heat 2 tablespoons of the olive oil with the garlic over meduim heat. When the garlic starts to sizzle, pour in the tomatoes. Add the salt and crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat. Simmer the sauce for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In another skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over high heat. Add the shrimp and scallops. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink, stirring frequently. Add to the tomato mixture. Stir in the parsley. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the sauce just begins to bubble. Taste for salt. Serve over the pasta. This was excellent with a colorful leafy salad with grilled chicken pieces, shredded cabbage, Oriental noodles and Good Seasons Oriental Salad Dressing mix. (...to replace all that vinegar, use 1 Tb. vinegar and some soy sauce and remaining water to vinegar line). Cut down on the oil too!

Shrimp Fra Diavolo

2 lrg onions, chopped
4 x cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbl olive oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 can italian-style tomatoes
1 can pasta-style tomatoes
1 can , (29 oz) tomato sauce
2 tsp sweet basil
1 tsp mexican oregano
1 lb shrimp, peeled
pasta of choice

Sautee onion and garlic in olive oil for 3 minutes; add remaining ingredients, except shrimp and pasta. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add shrimp and simmer until shrimp are translucent, about 4 minutes. Cook pasta of choice according to directions, drain, and top with sauce. We topped this dish with shredded cheddar cheese and black olives.
