Simply Banana Cream Pie with Vanilla Wafer Pie Crust

Makes one 9-Inch Pie or approximately 8 Servings
1 prepared 9-inch vanilla wafer crumb pie crust (or see recipe below)
1 large box of Instant or regular Banana Pudding and Pie Filling Mix
1 to 2 large ripe bananas, sliced
2 cups sweetened whipped cream or 8 or 12 ounce carton of frozen non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
Maraschino cherries, drained well (optional)
Cover bottom of pie shell with banana slices.
Line sides of prepared pie pan with whole vanilla wafer cookies. Prepare banana pudding. Add banana pudding to fill. Spread evenly and chill well.
Top with a layer of whipped cream or non-dairy whipped topping immediately before serving. Garnish with additional banana slices or maraschino cherries.
Or if you want to make your own Vanilla Wafer Crust:

1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine ingredients well, and press on bottom and up sides of pie pan.
Bake in oven for 10 minutes. Let crust cool completely before filling.
