Recipe(tried): Spiced Peaches

Desserts - Fruit
Spiced peaches are a tradition on our holiday table and they have become increasingly more difficult to find. Here is the recipe that I use...

SPICED PEACHES

2 cans (29 oz. each) cling peach halves
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 cup cider vinegar
4 sticks cinnamon
2 tsp. whole cloves

Drain peaches, reserving syrup.Combine peach syrup, sugar, vinegar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil; then lower heat, and simmer 10 minutes.

Pour hot syrup over peach halves; let cool. Chill thoroughly before serving. Store in refrigerator.

Yield: about 4 pints
