Recipe: Tavern Barbecued Beef Tips (using onion, catsup and vinegar)

TAVERN BARBECUED BEEF TIPS

2 lbs. stew beef
Vegetable oil (for browning beef)
1 large onion, sliced
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp. catsup
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. thyme
Hot cooked rice (for serving)

Brown beef in small amount of oil. Remove beef to a baking dish.

Mix remaining ingredients, except rice, and pour over beef.

Cover and bake in a 300 degree F oven for 2 hours.

Serve with rice.

Makes 4 to 6 servings
