Recipe: Teriyaki Marinate

Teriyaki Marinate

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup mirin or dry sherry
1/4 cup salad oil
1 tablespoon fresh gingerroot
2 cloves garlic

1 Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

2 Pour over desired meat in a large zip lock bag and marinate preferably overnight, but at least 3 or 4 hours.

3 Makes enough for 2-3 pounds of meat.

Teriyaki Sauce

1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 TBS sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1-3 cloves of crushed garlic

Mix all ingredients well. I use it to marinade meat, and for stirfries. Can be used as a thicker sauce if you cook it down.
