Recipe(tried): Tuxedo Strawberries

Misc.

I couldn't believe it, Vicki, when I read your request!! My son and his fiance asked us over the weekend if we would host their wedding and reception at our home in June. I have always wanted to have a garden wedding at our home and now I have the opportunity.(I must admit I am a bit nervous also.) Her family will be doing the food and decorations. My husband and I will provide some of the items for the physical set-up---tents, tables and chairs, etc. We welcome any suggestions cyberfriends might have. When you mentioned strawberries, Vicki, I thought of a recipe I used last summer at a reception I had for a friend. Its a bit time consuming but easy and makes a really nice presentation.

TUXEDO STRAWBERRIES
1 (6-ounce) package white chocolate chips
24 large fresh strawberries
1 (6-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips

Melt white chocolate in a double boiler. Dip each strawberry into melted chocolate and place on wax paper-lined baking sheets. Leave stems on the strawberries and leave a bit of the red showing on top when you dip in the white chocolate. Melt semisweet chocolate in a double boiler. Dip 1 side of each coated strawberry halfway into chocolate; dip half of opposite side, forming a V with chocolate. Chill until frim. Spoon remaining semisweet chocolate into a small heavy-duty zip-top plastic bag; seal. (If necesary, submerge bag in hot water until piping consistency.) Prick a tiny hole in 1 corner of bag with a round wooden pick; pipe bow tie and 3 buttons onto white chocolate at top to resemble a tuxedo. Chill until chocolate is firm. Yield:2 dozen.
