Recipe: Wilted Lettuce

Wilted Lettuce:
(Woman's Day Cookbook of Favorite Recipes)
Serves:4

2 qts.broken Boston or leaf lettuce
2 Tbls.chopped chives or green onion tops
3 Tbls.bacon fat
1/4 c.vinegar
1 tsp.sugar
salt & pepper

Sprinkle lettuce with chives.

Heat bacon fat,add vinegar,sugar,salt & pepper to taste,heat.

Pour over lettuce,toss & serve at once.
