ISO: Advice on serving dipping oils

Has anyone out there served flavored dipping oils for bread at a party?

We have several couples coming over for a meeting tomorrow night, and I'm planning on serving Italian bread and flavored olive oil for dipping. However, I neglected to think out how I'm going to do this. Can I treat the oil as though it were a regular dip, and put it all in one shallow bowl for everyone to dip into? At our favorite Italian restaurant, we each pour the oil onto our own breadplates - do I need to figure out how to provide individual servings? Any ideas or advice?
