Thank You: Thank you for doing that!
Misc. Christine, I don't have a recipe, but I wanted to share with you how meaningful an effort such as yours was to me 10 years ago when I was fighting with cancer. I had two little boys at home, my husband was working hard and long hours, and my co-workers took turns delivering dinner to our little family every other night (often with enough for leftovers) for nearly 6 months. It is an understatement to say it was really special--of course because it was so practical and immediately helpful, but also because every other day, I was forcefully reminded that people cared about me and my family so much that they would go to great trouble to make (or sometimes buy) dinner for us. To this day, I remember "Carol's helpers" with such fondness and good feelings. And I have no doubt the co-workers' efforts were a big part of my recovery. A practical note, we found that delivering the dinner early--about 4 p.m. was very helpful, because the little ones got hungry otherwise, and with the early delivery, we could get everyone to bed on time. Bless you, my dear. You are doing God's work! --Carol
