Thank You: In regard to your letter to Gladys

Misc.
When I read about what you wrote about your son, it brought tears to my eyes. Children are so wonderful and special. I am so happy to hear the progress that he has made. I know that it has been a long and difficult road for you two. Children are everything to you and it is so hard to watch them go through so much as he has. I use to drive a special needs bus and I had this child that was autistic. When I first met him, all he could do was point and kind of grunt at what he wanted you to see. I fell in love with this child because you could see how wonderful and special he was. Before I met him I knew nothing about autism. A few years went by and I went to another route. The next time I seen him he was saying my name, counting to me, and could say his abc. And boy had he grown. For him it was alot of progress from the last I had seen of him. I was so proud. Like your son, he has a wonderful mother who stayed on top of things and was very supportive and involved. I am now driving a city bus because I needed more money to support my family. I cried when I had to leave all my babies. After a while they become like your own. I feel as long as they know that there are so many people who love them and are very supportive, they can get past many obsticles. Your story is very inspiring.
