Thank You: Dearest SBC: Your wonderful letter has given me a great sense of hope
Misc.regarding our beloved JonEdrick's future. This is the first person who gives us hope & who has the experience to understand what we are going through & also, can tell a success story. I have searched tirelessly the Internet & the stories are horrible. Also, they are so cold, because the Articles are written by health professionals.
I appreciate your warmth & knowledge. I am forwarding your wonderful message to Jos Luis & Seilita as soon as I finish this post.
JonEdrick is under therapy by a speech therapist and a pediatric neurologist that had been seeing him since he was 18 months old. He also was referred to an audition test & he was diagnosed with perfect hearing. I completely agree with you that early intervention is vital for helping our very special childs. He understands basic orders & not only makes eye contact but he frequently smiles & likes to hold our hands to take us to any place where there is something that he wants. When we call him he does not answer, but he stop whatever he is doing & he looks at us like asking what we want. Then, if we say come here, he runs in the opposite direction.
But he has some other autistic traits. For example, he does not react to pain. Also, when he was 8 months old, he already said mami & papi, but then, something happened that he forgot his incipient language & now is when he uses single referring to his mother or father.
I must tell you that you have a wonderful son & you are a wonderful mother. Thanks for giving us hope & may God Bless you!
A big hug from
