Thank You: Thanks everyone, this has been so interesting. There are several orange trees
Misc.in the woods around my house that have sour oranges and I have always wondered if they were the same thing. I googled this morning and found that the sour orange that Gladys has is different. According to the Perdue University site, it is also called Seville orange and has different names in different countries. In Guam it is called soap orange, which I found amusing. Also, interesting is that it is a native of Southeast Asia. It is probably like an apple, several different varieties of basically the same thing. Evidently the oranges that grow sour here are just an anomaly of some kind. I did use some of them to make the pork chops one time, though, and they came out great.
