Jan Karon's Marmalade Cake

We've been discussing this fictional cake on the Cooking Club Board and several good-sounding recipes have been posted. Does anyone have the genuine recipe mentioned in Jan Karon's Mitford books? Or the method for the ham which the vicar always bakes for festive occasions? They both sound so GOOD!! For those of you who don't know these books....Jan Karon describes life in a small NC village...sort of the american answer to Miss Read.
