waxed paper memories!

I think my dear Mom was the Queen of waxed paper uses! She always cut circles of it to line her layer cake pans. After baking, cookies were set to cool on sheets of waxed paper. She'd scrunch up a bit of it & use that to spread the Crisc in baking pans, the can of Crisco always seemed to have that little wad of paper in it! And do you remember before plastic sandwich baggies, when your sandwich for school was wrapped in a little Waxtex paper bag? I remember when Saran came out & I sooooooo wanted Mom to wrap my lunch in that (like my friends). I even remember one of my early craft experiments. I shaved crayon bits onto waxed paper & ironed it with my toy iron (which got quite warm, if memory serves!)
