Weird Food

My late Uncle Pete made the really typical Dagwood sandwiches--slice of bread spread with mayo, bologna, lettuce, pickle, cheese, sliced banana, sliced olives, sliced tomato smeared with mustard, hot peppers (the hotter the better), jelly, butter and then peanut butter on the sop slice of bread. He had to practically sit on it to flatten it enough to be able to bite it.

Also, everyone in our family loved LIVER but never had it with onions. It was always served with rice and liver gravy. To this day, I prepare it that way as that's how my mother and grandmother did it.

Also, my grandfather crushed up saltines in warm milk as a "bedtime" snack.

I also had an aunt who ate unbrewed coffee grounds when she was pregnant. Couldn't get enough of them.

As I think about all of these quirks, I realize all of these folks are dead! Could it have been from the way they ate??
