Recipe(tried): Amish Style Yum-a-Setta - a good carry in dish for Roxie, Utah
Main Dishes - CasserolesThis is a casserole that I often take, especially if there are kids in the house. My grandkids have said "this tastes like sloppy joes on mac and cheese". It makes a lot, can be made ahead and travels well.
AMISH STYLE YUM-A-SETTA
2 pounds hamburger
Salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 can tomato soup, undiluted
1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 (16 oz.)pkg. egg noodles
1 (8 oz.) pkg. processed cheese (Velveeta)
Brown hamburger with salt, pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder and onion. Drain Add tomato soup. Set aside.
Cook egg noodles according to package; drain. Add cream of chicken soup and mix well.
Layer 1: Layer noodle mixture on the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch casserole.
Layer 2: Sliced processed cheese
Layer 3: Hamburger mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes until heated through and the cheese is melted.
This casserole can easily be made the day before and is great for potlucks, etc.
Hope this helps!
