Recipe: Cauliflower Layered Salad (make ahead) (1970's)

Salads - Vegetables
CAULIFLOWER LAYERED SALAD

1 large heat cauliflower, separated (cut really small, big pieces not pleasant)
1/4 cup onion (more or less - if strong, use less)
2 boxes (10 oz. each) frozen peas
1 pint mayonnaise
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Schilling Salad Supreme seasoning
4 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
8 slices bacon, cooked and broken into pieces

Layer ingredients in dish in order given. (I use a 3 quart casserole dish. Size of dish will depend on size of cauliflower heat.)

Top with mayonnaise, spreading to seal to edges of dish. Sprinkle on sugar and then Salad Supreme seasoning. Top with cheese and then bacon pieces.

Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours. Toss before serving.

Note on recipe: 8/21/78 - made half recipe, very good.
