Recipe(tried): Coca Cola Pork Roast and Pulled Pork with Root Beer Barbecue Sauce (crock pot)
Main Dishes - Pork, Ham Here are two of our favorites. I know they sound strange but they are both very good.
Coca Cola Roast
Serving Size : 8 Prep
1 1/2 lb beef roast
garlic salt
coca cola-enough to cover roast
salt and pepper
3 tbl cookin oil
1 1/2 cups ketchup
Salt, pepper and garlic salt roast well. Sear on all sides in oil. Remove from pan and drain excess fat and place in crockpot. Pour coke and ketchup (1 to 1/2c) over roast to cover. Cook on low all dayPulled Pork with Root Beer Barbecue Sauce

Serving Size : 10
1 2-1/2 to3 lb porl sirloin roast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon cooking oil
2 medium onions, cut in thin wedges
1 cup root beer
2 tablespoons minced garlic
3 cups root beer ( two 12oz cans or bottles)
1 cup bottled chili sauce
1/4 teaspoon root beer concentrate -- optional
several dashes of hot pepper sauce -- optional
8 to 10 hamburger buns, split -- toasted if desired
lettuce leaves -- optional
tomato slices -- optional
Trim fat from meat. If necessary, cut roast to fit into crockery cooker. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, brown meat on all sides in hot oil. Drain. Transfer to a 3-1/2, 4-, or 5-qt. electric crockery cooker. Add onions, the 1 cup root beer, and garlic. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 8-10 hrs. or on high-heat setting for 4-5 hrs.
Meanwhile, for sauce, in a med. saucepan combine the 2 cans or bottles or root beer and chili sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Boil gently, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 30 min. or until the mixture is reduced to 2 cups. Add root beer concentrate and hot sauce, if desired.
Transfer roast to a cutting board or serving platter. With a slotted spoon, remove onions from juices and place on serving platter. Discard juices. Using 2 forks, pull meat apart into shreds. To serve, line buns with letttuce and tomato, if desired. Add meat and onions, spoon on sauce.
