BAKED PORK CHOPS IN DELICIOUS SAUCE
"This sauce is so delicious that I double the recipe for it so we have plenty for our mashed potatoes. Be sure to use pork chops that are at least 1 inch thick."
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
6 boneless pork loin chops
1 lb sliced fresh mushrooms
2 large garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp pepper
3 Tbsp flour
1 cup dry white wine
1 cup cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add pork chops and just brown on both sides. Arrange chops in a 13x9 inch baking dish.
Add mushrooms to the drippings in the skillet and cook over medium-high heat WITHOUT STIRRING for 3-4 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic, salt, oregano, basil and pepper. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir to moisten. Pour in wine and bring to a boil. Add cream and chicken broth; bring back to a simmer, stirring to thicken.
Pour hot mixture over chops. Cover baking dish tightly with a double layer of foil.
