CRISCO FOOL-PROOF CARAMEL FROSTING
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons corn syrup
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup Crisco vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons hot milk
Boil together brown sugar, corn syrup and 1/3 cup milk until soft ball forms when dropped into cold water (238 degrees F).
Mix Crisco with confectioners' sugar and hot milk. Pour hot syrup over confectioners' sugar mixture. Beat to a spreading consistency.
