DUTCH APPLE CRUMB PIE
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (21 ounce) can Comstock Sliced Apples, well drained
1 (8 inch) unbaked pie crust
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Topping (recipe follows)
In a medium bowl combine sugar, flour, spices, salt and apples. Spoon mixture into pie crust. Sprinkle lemon juice over top. Sprinkle topping over apple filling.
In 425 degree F oven bake 15 minutes: reduce heat to 350 degrees F and continue baking until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
TOPPING
In a bowl combine until moist and crumbly:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
3 tablespoons milk
Make 1 (8-inch) pie
