Recipe(tried): Easy Garden Supper (hamburger casserole)

Hi! This is a recipe that I found in an old church cookbook! My family likes it.

EASY GARDEN SUPPER

Brown 1 lb. hamburger and some onions.

Add:
1 cup rice
2 cups water
1 boullion cube

Bring this to a boil; cover and reduce heat to simmer for about twenty minutes.

Then top the rice mixture with:
tomato and green pepper chunks
1/2 to 1 cup of grated American cheese

Replace the cover and let stand 5 minutes.

This very pretty in a black cast iron pan, so I serve it right to the table.
