Recipe(tried): Tostada Grande (hamburger casserole)

Main Dishes - Casseroles
This recipe is from a Pace Picante Sauce cookbook. It's quick and easy, and it tastes great!

Tostada Grande

1 lb. ground beef
1 can (16 oz) whole tomatoes, drained and chopped
3/4 cup PACE picante sauce
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
12 corn or flour tortillas (6 to 8 inches)
2 cups shredded cheddar or monterey jack cheese
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 medium tomato, chopped
1 ripe avocado, peeled, seeded, and sliced

Brown meat, and drain. Stir in tomatoes, picante sauce, cumin and salt; simmer 5 to 10 minutes or until most of liquid has evaporated.

Cover bottom and sides of 14 inch pizza pan with tortillas; spread with meat mixture.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese; return to oven until cheese is melted.

Arrange lettuce, remaining cheese, tomato and avocado over top. Cut into wedges. Serve with additional picante sauce.

Makes 6 servings
