Recipe: FILLED PIZZELLES

FILLED PIZZELLES
Dough:
doz. eggs
lb. oleo, melted and cooled
1 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
Filling:
10 Tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup oleo
1 cup Crisco
teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Filling:
Cook until thick flour and milk; cool.
Add remaining ingredients.
Make pizzelles and roll as soon as it is done, while it
is still hot; otherwise, it will break if you wait.
When the pizzelles are all cooked and cooled, fill.CHOCOLATE PIZZELLES
cup cocoa
cup sugar
teaspoon baking powder
To regular Pizzelle mixture, add these ingredients.
Pizzelles with nuts:
Add 1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped fine, to batter.
Chocolate Pizzelles:
Sift with flour and add to egg.
mixture.ITALIAN PIZZELLES
6 eggs
1 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) melted margarine -- cooled
2 Tbsp. anise or vanilla flavoring
3 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl, add sugar, beat until
smooth.
Mix in margarine and flavoring.
Sift together flour and baking powder.
Add to egg mixture.
Batter will be sticky and thick enough to drop from spoon onto a waffle iron or
pizzelles iron.
Yields about 5 dozen.
