Recipe: Gravy Recipes Using Soup Mix (Lipton Soup Mix recipes, 1987)

GRAVY RECIPES USING SOUP MIX

ONION GRAVY
Makes about 1 3/4 cups gravy

1 envelope Upton Onion Recipe Soup Mix
2 cups water, divided use
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

In medium saucepan, blend onion recipe soup mix with 1 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 8 minutes.

Stir in flour blended with remaining water. Bring to a boil, then simmer, stirring constantly, until gravy is thickened, about 2 minutes.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In 1-quart casserole, blend onion recipe soup mix with 11/2 cups water. Heat uncovered at HIGH (Full Power), stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Stir in flour blended with remaining water. Heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until gravy is thickened. Let stand covered 5 minutes.

ONION-MUSHROOM GRAVY
Makes about 1 1/2 cups gravy

1 envelope Lipton Onion-Mushroom Recipe Soup Mix
1 2/3 cups water, divided use
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

In medium saucepan, blend onion-mushroom recipe soup mix with 1 1/3 cups water. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 8 minutes.

Stir in flour blended with remaining water. Bring to a boil, then simmer, stirring constantly, until gravy is thickened, about 2 minutes.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In 1-quart casserole, blend onion-mushroom recipe soup mix with 1 1/2 cups water. Heat uncovered at HIGH (Full Power), stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Stir in flour blended with remaining water. Heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until gravy is thickened. Let stand covered 5 minutes.

BEEFY MUSHROOM GRAVY
Makes about 1 1/2 cups gravy

1 envelope Lipton Beefy Mushroom Recipe Soup Mix
1 3/4 cups water, divided use
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

In medium saucepan, blend beefy mushroom recipe soup mix with 1 1/4 cups water. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 8 minutes.

Stir in flour blended with remaining water. Bring to a boil, then simmer, stirring constantly, until gravy is thickened, about 2 minutes.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
Increase water to 2 cups. In 1-quart casserole, blend beefy mushroom recipe soup mix with 1 1/4 cups water. Heat uncovered at HIGH (Full Power), stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Stir in flour blended with remaining water. Heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until gravy is thickened. Let stand covered 5 minutes.

BEEFY ONION GRAVY
Makes about 1 1/2 cups gravy

GRAVY VARIATIONS:
Blend with soup mix and water, then continue as directed:
- .3 tablespoons dry red wine
- 1/2 to 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
