This is a favorite of my DH.
Ham and Cheese Bowties
2 c. (8 oz) uncooked bow tie pasta
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
2 1/2 c. ahredded Colby cheese
1/2 lb. cooked ham, cut into chunks
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook and drain pasta as directed on package.
While pasta cooks, melt butter in a 3 quart saucepan over low heat. Saute garlic in butter for 30 seconds. Whisk in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Gradually stir in milk. Heat to a boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Stir in mustard and Colby cheese and cook, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted. Stir pasta and ham into cheese sauce.
Pour into ungreased 2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly.
